March 2018, and I am reviewing my TENTH Stitch Fix box! I never thought I would have so much fun with these subscription boxes when I got my first fix a few years ago.

What is Stitch Fix? It is essentially a subscription service for clothing with flexible timing.

If you are already familiar with Stitch Fix and their program, skip below to see my review of my March 2018 box . If you are new to this idea or just want to get a little bit more detail, keep reading for the full details.

Stitch Fix is a subscription fashion service for women and men that sends you five items (clothing, jewelry, accessories, handbags or shoes) for you to review in the comfort of your own home, keep the items you like, and send back what you don’t love. They actually just started sending intimates now called “Extras” that you can add on to any “fix”. Cute, right?

I totally understand if you have questions, so let me dive into this in a little bit more detail before we look at my personal “fix”.

How Does Stitch Fix Work?

  1. First, you register at Stitch Fix and complete your style profile as a man or woman depending on the clothing preferences you would like to receive. For women, they carry sizes 0 to 24W, as well as maternity and petites (I have used BOTH!), so nearly everyone can find something they love from this service. When completing the questionnaire, you will tell them your height, weight, typical clothing and shoe sizes, body type, preferred clothing fit, style, normal style needs and options (ie. are you stay-at-home-mom style, often have fancy events, or business professional in the office daily?), typical stores you shop, styles or items you want to avoid, ideal price point for items, and any major likes/dislikes. You also get to provide your links to Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn if you choose to do so to show your stylist what you really like as well as your current style.
  2. There is a section where you can write a note about ANYTHING! Seriously, you can tell your stylist that this is your first fix and you want to be surprised, ask for specific items you have seen in other fixes (this of course is dependent on availability and timing), let your stylist know you have a vacation and want only vacation clothing, want only jeans to find your favorite fit, want only dresses, etc. For my March 2018 “fix”, I told my stylist that I wanted some things that are a little more trendy and maybe push my comfort zone.
  3. You are now ready to order your first “fix”! Your card will be charged a $20 styling fee. However, if you keep any item (one or more) you will be credited back the $20 toward that item or items. Because of this expectation, I typically try to keep at least one item or understand that I am giving away $20 for nothing in return. However, from my experience, I did receive one fix that included nothing I felt was right for me, so I sent it all back. Although I am sure this would not happen all of the time, I was able to give it another shot free of charge after an email from the management team. I really think the Stitch Fix team is committed to make their customers happy and find you something you love. You can also sometimes get the fee waived during certain times of the year. Score!
  4. After your order is placed, you will receive 5 items in each fix. This could include clothing, jewelry, shoes, and handbags, as you prefer. Generally, I only want clothing in my fix, sometimes shoes, so I just always let my stylist know! Handbags and jewelry are less important to me in my search mostly because these items are easiest to shop for with four kids in tow. Clothing and shoes, not so much!
  5. After you receive your fix, try on all of your items with the clothes, shoes and accessories right there in your closet. This is the best part because you can see if it looks good with “those shoes” or “that jacket” instead of just hoping the pieces you try on in a store are right. You get to decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back. Shipping is 100% covered in your postage paid envelope that comes as part of your “fix” and you never pay to return your items. You have 3 business days to try on your items, dance around in things you are not sure about, and give those items a chance with options in your own closet. If you happen to have what I like to call a “Perfect Fix” and keep all 5 items, you will receive 25% off your entire fix! Fabulously great deal, am I right?!?!?!

I do want to note that you choose when to get your subscription boxes. I choose my “fixes” to arrive when I desire a new “fix” and select this option for my program. Any user is able to decide when you want another fix, whether that be every 2-3 weeks, monthly, every 2 months, every 3 months or literally any time you select to have a new fix (like me!).  The program is 100% flexible.

Let’s dive in to my March 2018 Stitch Fix (#10)!

When your fix arrives, you get a pretty box with five items wrapped in paper. You also get a  note from your stylist, style cards for each item, and an invoice for the full purchase. The style card shows how you can wear each item and gives you ideas instead of leaving it up to you to pick something you own at random.

So here is what I received this round…

  • Ezide Textured Print Top—Market & Spruce (M, $58)

I thought this shirt was cute immediately, but when I started to think about the limited number of WHITE shirts I have, I loved it even more. This shirt is the perfect mix between casual tank you can wear with jeans and top to go with a pair of dress pants and dress jacket for a classy business meeting. I love the fit and love the pattern. My two concerns are price [I am not a spender for clothes in general so a tank for $58 would be pricey for me] and the fact that it is a tiny bit see-through. You could possibly get away with a white bra, but might need a cami.

  • Honey Distressed Frayed Hem Skinny Jean—Vigoss (8, $68)

I have said before that every pair of jeans I get from Stitch FIx is a perfect fit. No difference here. Perfect amount of stretch and perfect fit! These are a bit similar to a pair of jeans I already own, but I might still keep them!

  • Caley Kimono—Emory Park (M, $34)

This. Kimono. So, when I asked for some things outside of my comfort zone this time, my stylist knew this would be one of them. She even said it in her note to me. However, I kind of love it. My sisters wear kimonos and look adorable. I kind of feel like I can pull off their cuteness vibe with this one! My stylist said it would be great for pairing with the Ezide top and Vigosss jeans as well as the Privett dress, so I tried it both ways. I could also totally see this with a cute summer swim suit on the beach!

  • Privett Back Detail Knit Tank Dress—Nine Britton (M, $44)

Does everyone love a dress with POCKETS or is it just me? Just me? It cannot be!!! This dress is a lovely plum color, has pockets, a forgiving shape [ie. not clingy to the winter tummy chub], and the back is too cute. There is one problem with the back and that is that the bottom opening shows my bra. What do you wear with a low back dress when you are a mom that CANNOT go without a bra?I would love some recommendations in the comments!!

  • Ella Jersey Maxi Dress—Wisp (Size 8P, $88)

You guys, this dress is 1000 times flattering! I loved it before I tried it on based on the fun pattern and shape but holy moly. It slides in at the shoulders, does not show too much cleavage but just a bit, curves in at the waist, and is forgiving at the tummy. Plus! She sent a petite, so it is not too long! I can wear it with heels OR sandals! Win all around! I adore this dress!

Maxi dress is great: plum is ok but old navy also has t shirt dresses for cheap. Love the kimono too.

The white top is my favorite! I’m a huge dress fan with Spring & Summer on the horizon, I’d get the Maxi Dress.

    Loved your box!!!

Hello girls! It is always difficult to find a stylist that sends you the right stuff. Im a very short girl and have trouble finding out what suits and fits me. The best service for me so far has been Ropeo, they offer a similar dynamic but their stylist really listen to your preferences and they send amazing clothes, I´ve loved it and truly recommend it! This is the link in case you want to try it!
